This tapestry made in 2009 took about 2 months to make and truly reflects this stunning coastal scene.
I have been weaving since 1978 and although a few long breaks due to work load while living in London. I have been prolifically sourcing inspiration from my lovely surroundings in South West Wales and further afield.
I live about an hour away from this lovely place. Manorbier in South Pembrokeshire is part of the Welsh Coastal walk. I could never be unhappy knowing such beautiful places are so near to me
The top of the tapestry is wrapped around a wooden baton , with screws for easy fixing to a wall. Traditionally the backs of tapestries have the ends cut and left and I have added a strip of binding around the edges.
Each individual piece I make can take several months to complete and the emotion of seeing this lovely spot comes out fully in my weaving.
I have two vertical looms which are made by Le Clerk, a Canadian company who make looms in the style of the famous Gobelin factory in France.
